Assessment

Students are expected to be prepared for art class by bringing any necessary art materials, homework or visual journals, focus on course objectives for the duration of class.  Students should make their best effort to participate in all class activities safely, respectfully and  to the best of their ability.

Formative/Interim Assessments (40%)

These include skill building and practice exercises, visual journal reflections, performance observations and contributions to class discussions.

Participation (15 %)

This includes preparedness for class, completing homework assignments, demonstrated effort and contributions to class discussions.


Studio Practice  (15 %)


Studio practice marks are based on teacher observations of the responsible use of materials, 
conscientious efforts at good craftsmanship and the observance of safety rules.

Summative (30 %)


This includes assessments of final projects and presentations, key assignments, and evaluation of the work of self and others.
