Kindergarten and PreK have been working on creating organic and inorganic shapes to create a colorful background in the style of Matisse for their portraits. The leftover paper turned out to be a perfect frame. Masterpiece!
Grade 4's portraits are doing a great job brightening up the LS hallway!
Grade 4 students have been exploring how value is important to creating realistic representations. Students practiced creating gray scales and drawing select parts of their face in their visual journals before tackling the other half of their portrait.
Our first attempt. Students learned techniques to create correct proportion in a guided drawing and used the negative space to include images that suggest aspects of their personality.
Grade 4 is working hard to create a realistic portrait from careful looking and correct proportion. We learned special techniques to blend skin tone colors with pencil crayons, how to use markers for best effect and where all of the parts of the face belong.
Grade 2 worked hard to create a realistic portrait while imagining who they want to be in the future!
